Have you ever gone through something that turned out okay, only to look back and see just how bad it could have been?
I recently listened to a sermon about every miracle having a miracle that was missed inside of it. The pastor was specifically speaking on Paul getting shipwrecked on Malta. He mentioned that Paul started the journey in chains, but later was walking around on the island collecting sticks. Never noticed that detail before. As a result of the shipwreck, his chains were gone. Likely, a prayer answered in a very unexpected way. So, unexpected that I missed it. I bet Paul and some of the others with him looked back over that journey and thought,
I recently had a similar thought. I realized just how covered in prayer I must be. Not prayers that I prayed, but some prayers that my mama and dem must have prayed. My prayer was very short sighted. I simply prayed not to get pulled over for an expired tag. You see, one way that I have been blessed is that my mother in law normally pays the taxes on my car. I rarely even think about. An envelope normally just arrives in March with the new sticker for my tag. Well it was May, and a thought hit me. My mother in law is not doing well, I bet she didn’t pay the taxes this year. It’s 2021 and I walk to the back of my car. The sticker on my tag said 2019. No one had paid the taxes to get a new sticker. It would be almost a week before I could pay them. So, I started praying.
Here’s the deal, I was living in Alabama and I never switched my car registration from South Carolina. I had every intention to. Each year I waited until I needed to renew my registration, planning to transfer it. Then, my mother in law would always pay the taxes before I could transfer it. But, this year she hadn’t paid it, my tag expired a month ago, and you would think now would be a great time to transfer it. You’d be wrong. In two weeks, we were moving back to South Carolina after living in Alabama for 5 years. We had a tripped plan to South Carolina, so we needed all the protection to make the journey without getting pulled over.
And we made it uneventfully to South Carolina. All we had to do was a walk through and inspection of our new home. Then, we could grab a bite to eat and head to the tax office. In preparation for going to the tax office, I reached in the glove box hoping to find an old registration that we can use it to pay the taxes. I found it and pulled it out. There sat a 2020 car tag sticker, that I had been driving around with. My car tag wasn’t a month old. It was a year and a month old. I managed to make it an entire year without getting pulled over for expired tags. Here, I am praying about a week. When, I had been protected and covered for an entire year plus. I look back over all the bad that could have happened if I had gotten pulled over in 2020 (your remember 2020) and I can’t help but, praise him for the all the little miracles.
So, take some time, sit back, and find some miracles inside your miracles. You have no idea the prayers people have prayed over you.

They are everywhere. I’m learning to try and find them even in the dark and unsure places. That rear view mirror is a revealer of so many things
